Biographical Sketch:
I am a biologist who studies the factors that shape species’ ecological limits. I am especially interested in how an animal’s ability to mate and reproduce dictates where it can or cannot live. I mainly studies dragonflies and amphibians, and my lab at CU Denver uses a variety of lab, field, citizen-science and comparative approaches. I have published articles in leading journals like Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Nature Climate Change, and Ecology Letters, and my lab’s work has been featured in media outlets like The Washington Post, CNN, and The Guardian. I am also on the editorial board at the academic journals Functional Ecology and Journal of Evolutionary Biology.
Education:
Ph.D. in Biology from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH), granted 2019
M.Sc. in Watershed Science from Murray State University (Murray, KY), granted 2014
B.S. in Biology from Gonzaga University (Spokane, WA), granted 2011
