Biographical Sketch:

I am a marine ecologist and biological oceanographer. I investigate how the marine environment impacts animal ecology, from zooplankton to top predators, with the goal to better manage marine resources. In particular, I explore how bio-physical environmental conditions impact the behavior, movement, and population dynamics of marine animals.

My lab studies the impact that environmental conditions and trophic interactions have on marine animals. We strive to learn how distribution and abundances may change in the future, and to provide advice to better manage ecosystem resources. We combine a wide array of observations with advanced modeling techniques to get to a multitrophic understanding of animal movement and behavior in the Gulf of Maine and beyond.

Specific projects of interest include drivers of zooplankton health (lipid reserves) in the Gulf of Maine and their consequences for the biological carbon pump and higher trophic levels, and multiscale drivers of habitat selection by pelagic sharks.

Education:

PhD in marine ecology from Technical University of Denmark (Kongens Lyngby, Denmark), granted 2020

MSc in Aquatic Science & Technology from Technical University of Denmark (Kongens Lyngby, Denmark), granted 2017

MSEng in General Engineering from École Centrale Paris (Chatenay-Malabry, France), granted 2017
